Souvenir white china cup commemorating the opening of Federal Parliament on 9 May 1927

Physical description

A souvenir white china cup with handle. One side of the cup features a transfer printed image of a kangaroo encircled by a garland of green leaves tied at the base with a blue bow. "AUSTRALIA / A / NATION" is printed above it. On the left is the Australian flag, and on right is the Union Jack. "MAY 1927 / TO COMMEMORATE THE OPENING OF / FEDERAL PARLIAMENT / CANBERRA" is printed below it. A trademark crown and "AYNSLEY / ENGLAND" are found on the base of the cup.
