Pedal driven dentist's drill used by Lilija Kokle

Object information

Physical description

A pedal driven dentist's drill, comprised of a treadle, a drill-piece attached to a metal arm, an adjustable pole, and a fly-belt. The black cast iron treadle is constructed of multiple components and features a 'Y' shaped base, a vertical flywheel, and a foot pedal with two circular checked areas. Markings cast on components of the treadle read 'TB6', and 'TB1'. The metal drill-piece attaches to a metal arm with both rigid and flexible sections, and connects to the treadle via a vertical, adjustable height metal pole. Manufacturers markings on the drill-piece read 'W&H', and on the arm read 'W.G / SYDNEY'. The fly-belt consists of a loop of off-white synthetic cord.
