Yellow, blue and red beanie-shaped hat, part of Castellorizian formal attire worn by Rose Pappas

Object information

Physical description

Greek hat with a thick headband constructed of a long padded fabric band doubled around circumference. Attached to the headband is a yellow and blue-grey crochet 'skull cap' section. All handstitched. Padding of heavy calico extends beyond fabric covering by 70mm. This is intentional - possibly so that ornamentation can be attached without damaging covering fabric.
