Physical description

Button brooch of gold-coloured metal, probably copper alloy. A ring of metal with the sides rounded up. Exterior and interior edges are edged with decorative metal band. Exterior edge has a more beaded appearance. The face is decorated with applied wire sections and metal lugs in a floral design. There is a metal piece to attach the brooch around band.

  • Rose Pappas migrated to Australia from Castellorizo (now Megisti) via Cyprus in 1949 and brought her costume with her. Following tradition the costume was passed on to Marina, the wife of her eldest son
