Description

In the 1972 Federal Election, a Labor Government was elected into power with Gough Whitlam as Prime Minister, defeating William McMahon. Sonia McMahon was the wife of the outgoing Prime Minister. Margaret Whitlam was the wife of the newly elected Prime Minister.
