A note on file mentions that John Patrick O'Loughlin, the Catholic Bishop of Darwin (1949-85), gave this this painting to WK Bolitho in around 1958-1960.
Ochres on bark. Painting depicts two groups of people wearing white body paint attacking each other with spears. At each end of painting are bark shelters. Trees and plants are growing around scene. There is a dog at far right and an unarmed person behind a tree to the left. Red background.
