Handwritten message on the reverse is dated 'Bris 4th/9/07 ' and reads 'Dear Merion/ How are you / gettin on hope you are quite / well I am longing to see you / again but I supose [sic] you have / forgotten all about me now / but I can never forget you / I do wish you would wirte / + tell me some news you can / address to (smudged over) + I will get it myself / I remain / yours truly / D. Y.'
