Description

Postcard issued by the Sydney Philatelic Club to mark the Jubilee of the five pence stamp of N.S.W. in 1905.
The printed invitation reads 'The Sydney Philatelic Club re-/quest the honor of your presence/at a Converazione at St. James'/Hall, Phillip Street, Sydney, in Cele-/bration of the Jubilee of the Five/Pence Stamp of New South Wales,/at 8 p.m. on Saturday 2nd Dec-/ember, 1905.'

Physical description

Postcard printed in green ink on white card. '1855 / JUBILEE / 1905 / 50 YEARS / NEW SOUTH WALES / FIVE PENCE' is printed in a scroll across the top of the postcard, above an image of the five pence stamp, which is flanked by two panels. One of them lists details of the stamp's designer, engravers and printer. The other one provides statistics of the number printed and issued. 'SOUVENIR CARD ISSUED BY / The Sydney Philatelic Club.' is below the image of the stamp, at the bottom of the card. The postcard is postmarked on the back.
