Physical description

A postcard featuring a black and white photograph of a train decorated with flags, and an address on the back. The image shows a steam locomotive with carriages at a platform with Australian Federation flags attached to the front. The front of the locomotive has a picture of a man wearing a crown, plus a crown shape above it, and a picture of a shield below it flanked by an emu and a kangaroo. The words "ADVANCE AUSTRALIA" are at the bottom of the shield. There are men in suits and bowler hats standing on the platform to the right of the train and two men standing on the tracks next to the train. Text at the bottom left reads "FIRST TRAIN / NEW STATION". The address reads "Mr. A. McLean / 39 Oxford St / Sydney / N.S.W." The card has a New South Wales postage stamp and parts of two postmarks on the back as well as the handwritten intials of "[CL.C?]?"
