Lyndhurst

Physical description

A postcard featuring a black and white photograph of a railway station with three men standing in front of it, and a message on the back. The station is a wooden weatherboard building with a corugated iron roof and verandah. It has two chimneys and a water tank. Three men in suits stand towards the right end of the photograph. In the background there is a horse and a hotel called "Tattersalls". "LYNDHURST" has been printed on the lower part of the photograph. The message reads in part "Dear Dorry I suppose you / think I have forgotton [sic] / you but Dorry you must / excuse me for not writing / before as we have been / busy fixing up things for / [---?] wedding it is next / wednesday she is to / be married we will send / you a bit of cake Dear / Dorrie.../ this is Lyndhurst Platform many a time / you was on it".
