Buque Aleman Potosi

Physical description

A postcard featuring a black and white photograph of a ship in full sail with text on the front and the back. The ship has four square rigged masts, triangular sails at the front and one fore and aft rigged mast at the back. The top half of the ship's hull is dark while the lower part is a light colour. The text in the top left reads "Buque aleman "Potosi" and down the left side "Propiedad de C.Kirsinger & Cia., Valparaisao-Santiago-Concepcion". Hand written text in the top and bottom corner reads "[Fitzjames?] / [---?] / 20/1/07 / Yours affectionately / [Eric?]". On the back of the card is the address "Miss M Best / "The towers" Bligh Street / Newtown / Sydney / NSW / Australia". There is a Chilean postage stamp and postmark.
