Object information

Physical description

A map showing North Head, Signal Nobby and the surrounding coastline. The north arrow and scale are located at the bottom left of the image. The map is titled "SKETCH of the QUARANTINE GROUND on the NORTH HEAD SYDNEY." Also inscribed on the map is text which reads "The outline of the Coast and the positions of the objects have no pretensions to Mathematical accuracy as this sketch is merely intended to serve for the purpose of general directions. 19 May 1838." The bottom right corner features a stamp which reads "Public Works. NSW. Col. Architect." The map is framed in wood with a card backing an a wire for hanging.
