Physical description

A coloured plate of a drawing of the empress Eugenie in her bridal dress in 1853. The painting was by E.S. Parris and is a lift out from a 1908 copy of Connoisseur magazine. The plate shows a full length pose without a background. The dress she is wearing is high necked and has a dropped waist with flouncing around the sleeves and skirt. There is caption at the bottom of the picture that reads "The Emprefs(sic) Eugenie in her bridal drefs(sic). An original drawing, taken from life by E.S Parris, at the marriage, to CHs Nappoleon (Nap'n III) Emp'r of the French) at the ceremonial at the Cathedral Notre Dame, Paris, Sunday Jan'y 30th 1853".
