Galvanised tin bathtub with cast iron legs

Object information

Physical description

Galvanised sheet metal bathtub. One end of the roll-top bathtub is square and the opposite end is rounded. It has cast iron legs, each featuring the face of a lion with a claw foot at the bottom, and is labelled "JOHN HOLLWAY & SONS / BALLARAT / MANUFACTURERS". The outside of the tub has a stamp on the sheet metal that reads "LYSAGHT / QUEEN'S HEAD / SPECIAL FLAT" and the design features a queens head with a decorative border around it and the initials "JL" in the top corners of the border and "BL" in the bottom corners. A partial stamp of the same image can be seen on the round end of the bathtub.
