John Broadwood and Sons Oblique Upright Piano, No.57621

Physical description

John Broadwood and Sons Oblique Upright Piano, No.57621 in oak veneer, with two carved legs, and three decorative fretwork panels across the front. The fretwork panels have red fabric behind them which shows through the pattern. Two non-original metal candle holders are affixed between the panels. The piano has two metal pedals at the bottom that are set within the body of the piano. The underside of the lid, which covers the keys, features the inscription "OBLIQUE. / JOHN BROADWOOD & SONS / LONDON.", and the serial number "57621" is engraved in the upper right hand side of the piano, under the flap that covers the strings.
