Physical description

A "COMMONWEALTH IMMIGRATION OFFICE PHOTO" postcard featuring a sepia coloured image of two men crossing a wooden bridge with a stack of sawn timber on a horse-drawn tram. A caption for the image, in the upper right hand corner, reads:

"TIMBER TRAMWAY IN A BEAUTIFUL SETTING.
HUGE QUANTITIES OF TIMBER FOR ALL PURPOSES ARE WON FROM THE BEAUTIFUL MOUNTAINOUS DISTRICTS THROUGHOUT AUSTRALIA. SAW MILLS ARE ERECTED IN THE HEART OF THE BUSH AND THE CUT TIMBER IS SENT TO THE NEAREST RAILWAY STATION - HANDY FOR THE BUILDER."

The reverse of the card features the text "Kinsmen, we welcome you" inslide an outline of Australia.
