Object information

Physical description

Pendulum wall clock consisting of various components including a clock dial, a wooden box that houses the clock mechanism, four wooden pegs, a brass pendulum and a clock key. The clock dial has a hinged glass cover with a brass rim and a circular wooden frame, and black Roman numerals on an off-white background. "J.M. Wendt Adelaide & Mt Gambier" is across the clock face. A brass clock mechanism is attached to the rear of the clock. The lower portion of the wooden box is decorated with a front window and carved side pieces. The box also has hinged doors on the side and underside and a metal plate stamped "A.D-87" is attached to the side. Four wooden pegs attach the wooden box housing the clock mechanism to the rear of the clock dial. Three of the pegs have rectangular heads and the fourth has no head, and all are painted or stained.
