Varnished cedar balloon-backed chair with a brown leather padded seat. The front two legs are turned and ornate while the back two are plain. "MB 5 21" is engraved above the front right leg and "Sep 1874", partially obscured by leather, is engraved on the back centre of the chair. A blue label with "PR 94" written in white is attached to the top of the chair back, which has broken off, but is kept with the chair.

This collection consists of 87 items from the New South Wales historical section of Australia Post. The items range from furnishings that were used for the opening of the Sydney GPO in 1874 to telephones, signs, posters, and postal boxes. The material covers a period of over one hundred years of postal service in Australia.
