Three-piece cardboard mobile joined with nylon. The top piece is a picture of a parrot coloured red, blue, aqua and black. The second piece looks like a letter with "There's something beautiful in the air ..." printed on one side and "Beautiful birds of Australia ... now showing their colours on pre-stamped envelopes" printed on the other. The third piece also looks like a letter with "Pre-stamped envelopes. / All they need is an address ." printed on one side and "Personal or business sizes..." printed on the other. It is stored in a yellow Australia Post envelope.
This collection consists of 87 items from the New South Wales historical section of Australia Post. The items range from furnishings that were used for the opening of the Sydney GPO in 1874 to telephones, signs, posters, and postal boxes. The material covers a period of over one hundred years of postal service in Australia.
